I always wanted to fall in love with food. It was always there as part of my life but somehow, we never connected. I travelled through life being friends with food but nothing more. I always felt that there was a connection, but never explored what food was about. I wanted to be sure before I asked, and so, life continued.
I came to India 3 years ago from Australia. That’s when I started appreciating food more. I used to spend hours and hours trying to search for places where I could have quality time with food. I also started yearning to meet food’s friends so I could learn more about food.
Finally, our lives crossed. Food connected with me and I was overjoyed to be closer to food. My life was enriched. I also discovered that food was moody and full of tantrums! I needed to always ensure flavours were balanced to keep food happy. I accepted food as it is, and we both were happy to be in each other’s lives.
We both felt that together we were moving in the right direction and would make a difference. Food felt that I was able to deeply understand and appreciate with a deeper heart – its moods, dreams, finer balanced flavours and gave it the respect it deserved in life. On the other hand, I felt that I had found something that could understand that I am a passionate and emotional person. I needed something to understand me deeply, without judging me by circumstances and allow my passion to unfold. I was here with big dreams to make an impact on the world. Food and I both understood each other very well.
We moved forward to connect more. And so, DiGhent was born.
