Trifle Pudding

Hola! So Holi is just round the corner, it is obvious that we should indulge in something sweet, I know calories count but it’s ok to pamper yourself at times. I just made a Trifle Pudding with Custard, Jelly and sponge cake. It was heavenly. You should try it for sure. I am posting the recipe for you all to try it soon.

Trifle Pudding
Ingredients needed

   Sponge cake ( Vanilla cake would do )
   Jelly – 1 small packet Strawberry flavor ( you can use any flavor)
   Any fruits of your choice. I have used Strawberries
   Sugar syrup or sugar water – 2-3 tbsp

 Method to make Jelly-
 Add both contents of the Jelly pack to a bowl. Boil 3 cups of water. Cool it for a minute and  mix it the jelly bowl and stir to avoid lumps.
 Keep it aside for 45 minutes to an hour.
For the custard layer

   Vanilla Custard powder – 2 tbsp
   Milk – 2 1/2 cups
   Warm Milk – 2 tbsp for mixing custard
   Sugar – 4 tbsp

 Method- 
Keep 2.5 cups of Milk in a pan and start to cook it. Add 4 tbsp Sugar to it and stir.
Mix 2 tbsp milk separately with 2 tbsp custard powder and form a smooth paste.
Now turn off the flame, add the custard mixture to the milk and sugar and keep stirring, cook again while stirring so that no lumps are formed.
Your custard is ready, allow it to cool for sometime.
Now its time to assemble the layers.
In a glass dish, cut small pieces of the cake and spread on the base. brush them with sugar syrup.
Add cut pieces of jelly as 2nd layer.
Now pour the custard on top of it.
You can top it up with whipped cream layer too.
Garnish with cut strawberries and almonds (optional). Refrigerate it before serving
Your Trifle Pudding is ready to gobble upon !!
